The Eight Collections

Eight collections of Hertz’s poetry were published between 2007 and 2023. The aim of each volume was to put together poems that had been composed within the same five- or ten-year period. Many of Hertz’s drafts were not dated, and putting his works in chronological order was a matter of educated guessing. The collections were published by a small independent press in Maryland, the Cambarus Group, sponsored by the poet’s heirs.

The title of each collection is taken from the lead poem.
