Home Renting the Moon for a Party Lips Coated with Ice

Lips Coated with Ice

Lips coated with ice:
Cold that shrinks, heat that swells —
A taste of paradox perfused, precise,
That does not touch what it compels.

And everyone knows it’s not the wound that’s felt
Naked or encased, not lips but words
That stab impenetrably, and now, absurd,
Are pouring out and yet did never melt.
